A masked assailant sexually assaulted a 37-year-old delivery worker in Staten Island after striking her with a handgun during her route Wednesday evening, authorities confirmed.
The attack occurred around 6 p.m. At the intersection of Dongan Hills Avenue and Jefferson Street in the Dongan Hills neighborhood, according to police and law enforcement sources. The perpetrator, described as a “total stranger” to the victim, approached her while she was in the process of making a delivery.

He struck her with the weapon before raping her, police said. The victim subsequently sought medical attention at a local hospital, where she was listed in stable condition. Authorities have not disclosed whether she was employed by a specific delivery company at the time of the incident.
The suspect had fled the location before officers could respond, and he remained at large as of the latest reports. The NYPD has circulated a police sketch depicting the wanted man with a mask concealing the lower half of his face and a hoodie drawn up over his head.

Investigators are actively seeking information that could lead to an arrest. The department has established multiple channels for tips, including direct phone lines to specialized units.
