The Royal Family Instagram account posted a series of photos of the Queen Consort that painted a portrait of her life.
The Queen Consort, a slideshow of 17 photographs released via Stories, provides a glimpse into the royal’s personal and professional life.
The slideshow, compiled a month after her husband became King and she assumed her new position within the Firm, begins with a portrait of the monarch overlaid with the words ‘the Queen Consort.’
The second image, a photograph of Camilla with Charles, explains her role: ‘The Queen Consort supports her husband, the King, in carrying out his works and duties as Sovereign.
‘Her Majesty also undertakes public engagements on behalf of the charities that she supports.’
The slideshow presents some personal information, beginning with her birth in 1947 in London and ending with her wedding to King Charles in 2005 and their 15th wedding anniversary in 2020.
The slideshow recalls that while Camilla was Duchess of Cornwall, she became patron of more than 100 charities, including organizations promoting animal welfare and assisting survivors of domestic abuse.
The Royal Osteoporosis Society was the Queen Consort’s first patronage.
A slide reads: ‘The Queen Consort’s involvement in this charity began in 1994 after seeing her own mother and grandmother suffering with the disease.’
Camilla’s passion of reading is then highlighted in the film, as is a remark from her on World Book Day 2020.
She says: ‘If I can give one piece of advice, it is to put down your phones and pick up a book, especially before bed time.
‘Books never lose their signal or run out of battery and they will always take you to a thousand different worlds with every turn of a page.’
Camilla’s work with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault is then promoted in the video.
Camilla states in a speech that appears in the film, ‘We do not in any way hold all men responsible for sexual violence.
‘But we do need them all on board to deal with it.
‘But we do need them all on board to deal with it.
‘And it takes an entire community, male and female, to dismantle the lies, words and actions that foster a culture in which sexual assault is seen as normal and shames the victim.’
The video also mentions her involvement with The Elephant Family organization, which was formed by her late brother Mark Shand to protect Asian elephants.
It also notes her support for the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in London and the two Jack Russell terriers she acquired from there, Beth and Bluebell.
The movie also emphasizes her 13 military positions, including Colonel Chief of the Rifles, which she took over from her father-in-law, the late Prince Philip.
It also delves into her dedication to assisting older folks in remaining active and feeling less alienated.
Finally, there is a photograph of Camilla with the late Queen, accompanied by a statement from Her Majesty expressing her support for the then-Duchess of Cornwall.
It says: ‘It is my sincere wish that, when the time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service.’
