Mila Kunis Slams Academy Members Giving Will Smith Standing Ovation

Mila Kunis blasted fellow celebs for giving Will Smith a standing ovation at the 94th Academy Awards in March after he smacked comedian Chris Rock, calling the incident “insane.”

The actress, 39, stated that she and her husband, actor Ashton Kutcher, were at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood that night and observed the brawl. They were also present when Academy members awarded Smith his first standing ovation for his part in “King Richard,” which she stated she didn’t understand.

“The idea of leading by example only makes sense when you actually have someone to lead,” Kunis shared recently.

“We have our tiny little tribe here at home, and never once do I want to tell them to do something if I’m not willing to do it myself,” she added. “Not standing up, to me, was a no-brainer, but what was shocking to me was how many people did stand up.”

“I thought, ‘Wow, what a time we’re living in that rather than do what’s right, people focus on doing what looks good,’” Kunis continued. “It’s insane to me.”

The actress was booed during her latest visit on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” which was taped in Brooklyn rather than his Los Angeles studio.

The actress married Kutcher in 2015, and the pair has two children.
