Miley Cyrus admits she lied to ex Liam Hemsworth for nearly 10 years about her virginity

Miley Cyrus just dropped a major truth bomb about her past with former flame Liam Hemsworth, and it’s all about the secrets we keep.

Zooming back to when Miley was a budding teen, she met Liam on the set of their 2010 film, The Last Song. It wasn’t just their characters falling in love; sparks flew off-screen too, leading to a real-life romance.

As their relationship deepened, so did their intimacy, but Miley recently confessed to hiding a personal truth from Liam during those early days.

Chatting on the Call Her Daddy podcast with host Alex Cooper, Miley spilled the tea about her sexual orientation and past experiences. She revealed a preference for girls long before guys caught her eye, admitting, “I was like 11 or 12, my friends were starting to tell me what they were doing with guys and I didn’t really understand it ― so I got most of my girlfriends to hook up with me.”

“The first time I ever hooked up with anyone was with a girl — two of them,” she added, noting that these hookups went ‘past first base’. But it was with Liam that she had her first full experience with a guy at the age of 16.

“But I ended up marrying the guy, so that’s pretty crazy,” she mused.

Here’s where the plot thickens: Miley wasn’t upfront with Liam initially. Worried he’d think less of her, she fibbed about her virginity, claiming it wasn’t him who was her first. “I couldn’t think of anyone so I just made somebody up that I knew but we’d never actually had sex before,” she confessed.

This lie lingered for nearly a decade, hanging over her head, until the truth had to come out in quite the awkward revelation — one of Liam’s buddies was set to marry the guy Miley had fictitiously named!

“So then [Hemsworth] was like, ‘Now my friend is marrying someone you’ve hooked up with’,” Miley recounted. “So then ― when I was like 24 ― I had to say that I lied when I was 16.”

Despite the rocky patches, Miley and Liam tied the knot in 2018, though they parted ways less than a year later, choosing to focus on their personal growth and careers.

Today, Miley stands unapologetically in her truth, reflective of a journey that’s been anything but straightforward.
