Nikki Glaser reveals real reason to why she sees dating older men as a ‘life hack’

Nikki Glaser has always been candid about her love life, and her newest perspective on dating older men is already getting people talking.

The 41-year-old comedian shared her thoughts on the Howard Stern Show, calling older men a genuine “life hack” — and she said it isn’t about money.

In her view, the biggest perk is surprisingly practical: it can make ending things far simpler.

Her logic is that older guys tend to be less immersed in social media. So instead of messy online fallout — mass blocking, vague posts, or other digital theatrics — the breakup is less likely to spill into the internet.

“That is the benefit of dating an older man,” she told Stern. “You can get out of it and like still look hot and young and like find somebody else after it. And I’m not even joking. You’ve got to think about those things.”

She also explained what she wants from a partner — and her criteria is straightforward.

“I want to be with someone who doesn’t like the spotlight because I like the spotlight and it’s nice when someone is just happy for you to have it and isn’t jealous ever.

The conversation came up during a playful chat about the idea of dating Dick Van Dyke, a joke that quickly turned into a semi-serious sales pitch.

“I’ll have been married, I get some of that comedy cred, and then I’m single again in two months,” she laughed.

Glaser’s profile has continued to rise since her Golden Globe Awards hosting run, a role she has now taken on two years in a row.

The Ohio-born performer made history as the ceremony’s first female host. She also recently dropped her fifth stand-up special, Nikki Glaser: Good Girl, on Hulu and landed on the cover of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People of 2026.

Chris Rock, who wrote her TIME100 profile, praised her for having “All the tools for comedic stardom” and said he hopes she realised she had “the potential to be not just a great comedian, but a great artist.”

In her personal life, Glaser has had an on-and-off relationship with TV producer Chris Convy for more than a decade after meeting on the set of her MTV show in 2013. Their dynamic has frequently surfaced in her comedy; Convy has reportedly told her she can say anything on stage, as long as it’s funny. For the moment, her older-men “hack” may simply be another bit — even if it sounds oddly convincing.
