NYC ‘Drunk’ Driver Plows Into NYPD Halloween Event, Injuring 4 Including Child

A suspected drunk driver struck four people, including a child, at a Brooklyn Halloween celebration outside an NYPD precinct on Saturday afternoon.

The motorist, 56, lost control of his black sedan around 4 p.m. And mounted the curb at the “Trunk or Treat” event outside the 83rd Precinct stationhouse on Knickerbocker Avenue near Bleecker Street in Bushwick, police said.

Three adults and the child were transported to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, where they were listed in stable condition, cops said.

A few additional people were evaluated at the scene by EMS, the FDNY said.

The driver also collided with a private ambulance that had been stationed outside the precinct for the event, authorities said.

He was taken into police custody, where he underwent an alcohol breathalyzer test, sources said.

There was no indication that he intentionally targeted police officers or children, and the incident was not terror-related, according to the sources.

The NYPD had staged the community event at the Bushwick stationhouse, with emergency personnel and vehicles on hand for the festivities.

The private ambulance struck by the driver was among those resources positioned outside the precinct for the celebration.

Investigators were working to determine the driver’s blood alcohol level as the breathalyzer testing continued in custody.

The four hospitalized victims were expected to recover from their injuries, police indicated.

The incident disrupted what had been a family-oriented Halloween afternoon in the Brooklyn neighborhood, with emergency responders shifting from event duties to treating the wounded.

The driver remained in custody Saturday evening as the investigation continued.
