Your Brain Will Never Believe These Stunning Images Aren’t Photographs, But They Have A Secret

These stunning grayscale portraits aren’t photographs — they’re unbelievably detailed drawings.

Paul Cadden is a Scottish artist based in London who creates hyper-realistic art.

He usually works with just a pencil on recycled cartridge paper.

He loves depicting people in their natural environment.

And the result of hours of work is nothing short of breathtaking.

“Although the drawings and paintings I make are based upon a series of photographs, video stills, etc, the art created from the photo is used to create a softer and much more complex focus on the subject depicted,” says Paul.

“These objects and scenes in my drawings are meticulously detailed to create the illusion of a new reality not seen in the original photo.”

Paul’s mission in his art is to “intensify the normal”.

And if you showed anyone these images, they would absolutely think they were photographs.

Every detail is painstakingly hand-drawn.

They seem to almost be breathing.

We feel like we know these people.
