A rapping stalker threatened Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez, 56, who co-founded the entertainment company with Jay-Z in 2008.
The same menace had been targeting Perez with death threats outside the building in multiple incidents since May, law enforcement sources said.
A representative for Perez told police that the creep threatened the businesswoman in front of the loft-style office building on West 26th Street near 11th Avenue in Chelsea around 7:30 p.m. Monday.
“You are going to die,” he seethed, according to sources.
It was not immediately clear how many in-person threats were made.
Sources also said threats were made through social media and in music lyrics targeting Roc Nation.
The suspect has been tentatively identified as a homeless man known around Manhattan and the Bronx, but he has not yet been arrested, according to the sources.
Perez was a key part of Roc Nation’s collaboration with the NFL, allowing the company to coordinate halftime shows since 2019.
She has also worked with music industry icons including Alicia Keys, Megan Thee Stallion and Lil Uzi Vert, with an executive producer role on major live tours.
Perez was also the first executive producer to win an Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special (Live), according to her online bio.
Prior to stepping into her current position as CEO in 2019, Perez served as Chief Operating Officer.
Roc Nation did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
A Bronx native, Perez began her career in entertainment in nightlife management in New York City, which led to her co-founding The 40/40 Club with Jay-Z and Juan Perez in 2003.
She has been a core member of Roc Nation since co-founding it with Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter (Chairman), Jay Brown (Vice Chairman), Juan Perez (President of Roc Nation Sports), and Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith (President of A&R).
Perez is a daughter of Cuban immigrants and grew up in the Bronx, where she’s worked with Jay-Z for more than two decades, helping negotiate major deals.
Such deals include Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s On the Run Tour and Rihanna’s Samsung deal.
In the viral moment outside Roc Nation’s Chelsea headquarters, the unnamed suspect confronted Perez directly, delivering the death threat to her face around 7:30 p.m. on a Monday evening.
Sources said this was not an isolated incident but part of a sustained pattern that began in May, with the same man making multiple appearances and threats at the building’s entrance.
Beyond the in-person confrontations, the suspect had also taken to social media and music to target the CEO and the company itself with lyric-laced screeds.
Law enforcement has identified the man as a homeless individual with a known presence in Manhattan and the Bronx, though he remains at large without arrest as of the incident report.
