Ravens Star Marlon Humphrey to Join Trump for Baltimore Submarine Announcement

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey is set to meet with President Trump at Sparrows Point on Tuesday ahead of the commander in chief’s announcement of a new submarine facility for the city.

Humphrey, 29, will join Trump before his remarks at Tradepoint Atlantic, a 3,300-acre logistics and industrial center on the site of the former Bethlehem Steel facility. The two men are expected to discuss the 10-year NFL veteran’s charity work along with their shared interests in football and golf.

“Marlon Humphrey is a great talent, player, and leader for the Ravens,” Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz told The Post. “He is also widely respected in the locker room and the city of Baltimore.”

The presidential visit marks a rare blue-state stop for Trump, who has been campaigning heavily for Republican candidates in states including Texas, Alabama and Nebraska. The White House is emphasizing its job creation record in blue-collar industries as polls show voter anxiety about the economy, insisting that manufacturing employment is rebounding.

The new shipyard represents a $3.7 billion investment to be built with Anduril Industries, expected to create 3,100 jobs. The facility will cover approximately 2 million square feet on 187 acres — roughly the size of 40 football fields — and will manufacture critical components for the Virginia-class submarine.

Other Ravens players are also expected to attend the announcement alongside Humphrey, who has spent his entire NFL career in Baltimore since being drafted by the team in 2017.

The submarine project fits into a broader administration push to highlight jobs and manufacturing achievements ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm elections. Trump has announced a new steel plant in Iowa and a natural gas pipeline in Alaska in recent weeks as part of that effort.

The president has repeatedly called for expanded Navy shipbuilding and signed an executive order in April 2025 aimed at rebuilding the country’s maritime industrial base.

Tradepoint Atlantic has transformed the former Bethlehem Steel site into one of the largest industrial redevelopment projects in the Baltimore region, now hosting warehouses, manufacturing and distribution operations. The facility also handles much of the freight for the port of Baltimore, ranked among the 20 busiest ports in the United States.
