Last week, Ricky Martin’s 21-year-old nephew nephew had alleged that the singer had a seven-month sexual relationship with him before starting to stalk and harass him. Ricky vehemently refuted the accusations, claiming he never had sex with the man, with his legal team saying the nephew has mental health issues.
The case has now been resolved – the nephew who had accused him of sexual abuse has withdrawn his complaint, giving Ricky Martin an automatic win.
Reports indicate the judge has revoked the temporary restraining order he had imposed a week earlier.
Martin’s legal team said the following: “The judge did not prolong the preliminary injunction, as we had anticipated. According to the accuser, there was no outside pressure or effect on his decision to dismiss the case, which he affirmed to the court… And the accuser confirmed he was satisfied with his legal representation in the matter. The request came from the accuser asking to dismiss the case. This was never anything more than a troubled individual making false allegations with absolutely nothing to substantiate them. We are glad that our client saw justice done and can now move forward with his life and his career.”
