An assault at the Splash House electronic music festival in Palm Springs left nine people injured Sunday.
Officers working the event responded to a report of an assault at around 1:40 a.m. Sunday, the Palm Springs Police Department reported.
A dispute between an unknown number of people escalated, with bottles being thrown into the crowd, according to the police department.
Nine people who were not involved in the initial dispute suffered minor injuries from broken glass; two of them were treated at the scene and seven others were taken to a hospital.
Additional officers responded to the scene and secured the area during the investigation.
The violence erupted during one of the desert’s biggest electronic music events.
The Chainsmokers, a GRAMMY Award-winning duo, performed during the After Hours programming, alongside house music favorites Ship Wrek, UK producer Biscits, and rising artist SLAMM.
Splash House is a multi-venue music festival hosted poolside at three hotel resorts in Palm Springs, with the Palm Springs Air Museum hosting the After Hours program—a pair of open air parties back-dropped by vintage aircrafts and the glowing airport tarmac.
Founded in 2013 by residents Tyler and Kelly McLean, the poolside series has grown from a debut crowd of around 600 into one of the desert’s best-known summer fixtures, turning the pools of three host hotels into daytime dancefloors.
Splash House returns to Palm Springs across two August weekends in 2026, running from August 7 to 9 and again from August 14 to 16.
