What can you make out of a single sheet of paper? Maybe a paper plane if you’re lucky. For a lot of people, the best they can do is confetti. Well, professional origami artist Sipho Mabona has created a life-size paper elephant out of one sheet of 50×50 foot paper.
The result is pretty incredible.
The incredible project took ten people four weeks to complete.
It was funded through a $26,000 Indiegogo campaign that allowed the whole team to work on the project for a whole month straight.
Mabona says he became interested in paper folding at a young age. He used to fold planes when he was five, but he quickly got bored with that and graduated to other forms of Origami.
The paper sculpture is amazing down to every detail.
The piece is currently on display in the KKLB museum in Beromunster, Switzerland.
If you keep your eyes out, you’ll notice that people can create truly spectacular things everyday. The ability to turn the mundane into the beautiful is one of the greatest gifts we as a species have.
