Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Reported Wedding Rule Guests Can’t Ignore

One NFL player set to attend Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding has shared one firm instruction given to guests — and admitted he may not stick to it.

Interest in the high-profile ceremony has only grown since the pair announced their engagement in August 2025, with reports in recent weeks suggesting the celebration could take place at Madison Square Garden around the July 4 weekend. Those same reports have also said permits were filed to close streets around the venue for part of that period, though Swift and Kelce have not publicly confirmed the location or date.

Although most of the plans for the big day have stayed private, one guest has now disclosed a notable request that invited attendees have allegedly been asked to respect: no gifts.

Speaking to ExtraTV at the Tight Ends & Friends Concert on June 23, San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle said he had received an invitation — and suggested he may ignore the no-gifts policy.

He said: “They said absolutely no gifts. But I was thinking, Travis, for some reason, really likes old coins, so I might get him an old coin.”

He then added: “Sounds expensive, too.”

Kittle also described Swift as ‘just so kind, and it’s awesome to have her around’.

He is far from the only person from the NFL world looking forward to the ceremony.

Kristin Juszczyk, who is married to NFL player Kyle Juszczyk, told Page Six: “Oh my gosh, everyone’s just so excited for them. We’ve known Travis for a while now, and we’re just so happy that he found his person.

“Really, it is just excitement … it’s the royal wedding!”

Swift and Kelce were first linked in 2023, after the Kansas City Chiefs tight end said he had unsuccessfully tried to hand the singer a friendship bracelet during her Eras Tour stop in Kansas City.

When they later confirmed their engagement, they wrote: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

During a previous appearance on the BBC’s Graham Norton Show, Swift appeared to suggest the celebration could be a major occasion with an extensive guest list, while still keeping key details quiet.

The New York Times has reported that ‘around 1,000 guests would gather’ for the event, along with ‘with possible stage appearances’.

Other reports have suggested the guest list could be even larger, with more than 1,000 people expected if the Madison Square Garden rumors prove accurate.
