Taylor Swift, 36, has announced an expanded “encore” edition of her record-shattering album “The Life of a Showgirl.”
The Grammy winner revealed Wednesday on Instagram that “The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore” will arrive Friday with four additional tracks. The news came one day after she unveiled lead single “Patient Zero” with a release date of September 25.
“About a year ago, you guys did a truly unfathomable thing. Something that completely blew my mind… You gave The Life of a Showgirl the biggest first week for an album in history,” Swift wrote on Instagram.
The “Cruel Summer” singer explained that following last October’s release, she traveled to Sweden with longtime collaborators Max Martin and Shellback to craft more material.
“I hope you love them, because they were born out of pure gratitude for your exuberance for and celebration of the album we made,” she continued. “The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore including four new songs is out on Friday and available to pre-order and save now ❤️🔥.”
Spotify listings confirmed the full tracklist additions: “Patient Zero,” “Cleveland!,” “Pink Clouding,” and “Babylon.”
Swift had built anticipation through cryptic teases featuring mysterious zeros, prompting fans to decode the clues across her social media platforms.
“I’ve been impatiently waiting to tell you that my brand new single ‘Patient Zero’ will be out on September 25 (!!!!!!!!!!!!),” she wrote via Instagram on Tuesday.
The pop icon made the track available for pre-sale through her official website in three CD variants priced at $3.99 each. The collectible editions showcase Swift in all-black ensembles with contrasting sparkly trim in orange, blue, and black, and include acoustic and piano versions alongside the original recording.
The original “The Life of a Showgirl” marked Swift’s 12th studio album and her first collection of entirely new material since beginning her relationship with NFL tight end Travis Kelce. She announced the 12-song project in August 2025 during a guest appearance on Kelce’s podcast, “New Heights,” which she joined as then-fiancée. Several tracks including “Wi$h Li$t” and “Wood” directly reference the Kansas City Chiefs star.
The couple, who began dating in 2023, became engaged in August 2025 when Kelce proposed in the backyard garden of his Leawood, Missouri, home. They married July 3, in a star-studded ceremony. Swift has since fully embraced her role as a Chiefs WAG, attending multiple games since the 2026-27 NFL season kicked off earlier this month. She was spotted Sunday showing off her wedding ring after Kelce scored his first touchdown of the season against the Indianapolis Colts, a game Kansas City won. “That’s my husband!” she appeared to say while pointing to her ring.
The “encore” release strategy mirrors Swift’s established pattern of revisiting and expanding her catalog, though this marks the first time she has added new material to an album within a year of its original release while simultaneously launching a dedicated single campaign.
