Terrifying Simulation Shows How a Woman’s Stanley Cup Deflected a Bullet

It’s widely known that Stanley cups are crafted from durable materials, but their resilience has reached new heights, as evidenced by their ability to withstand a gunshot.

A notable instance of the Stanley cup’s renowned toughness was shared by a woman whose cup endured a car fire. In 2023, TikToker Danielle recounted her ordeal on the platform, narrating how her KIA was engulfed in flames while her Stanley cup astonishingly emerged unscathed.

The cup’s resilience was highlighted again when it seemingly shielded a woman from a bullet.

Last year, Rachel from Steubenville, Ohio, experienced a frightening incident while at home. A stray bullet entered her house during an external shootout. Luckily, her Stanley cup, positioned in front of her, intercepted the bullet.

She told her story through a TikTok video, which went viral and has amassed nearly seven million views.

Rachel described that day as ‘the scariest day of [her] life,’ and expressed gratitude to her Stanley cup for potentially saving her life.

In an interview with the New York Post, Rachel recounted, “It was a freak accident,” adding that while discussing something with her fiancé David, they heard several gunshots followed by a loud bang, which was the bullet entering their home.

She explained, “[A bullet] ricocheted off the Stanley, which was right in front of me, and sent it flying through my perfume into my kitchen.”

Fortunately, no one was hurt, and she told CBS that the police were surprised by the occurrence, mentioning her request to keep the cup.

YouTube content creator Zack D Films has since produced a simulation depicting how the event likely transpired.

Viewers have shared their reactions to both the simulation and the 2024 incident, often echoing similar sentiments.

One remarked, “Welcome to America where water bottles are stronger than your houses,” while another commented, “The fact that their house has less protection than a big aluminum cup just shows how bad building in USA can be.”

Another viewer expressed disbelief: “Imagine a bullet going through the walls of a house but can’t go through a water bottle.”

Some have remarked on the incident’s potential as a marketing boon for Stanley, with a person calling it ‘the greatest Stanley Cup ad of all time.’

In a statement to USA Today, Stanley responded to Rachel’s experience, expressing relief that she was unharmed, and stated, “It reinforces the durability of our sustainable products.” However, they cautioned against using their products for safety protection purposes.
