A maniac in Houston fatally shot a woman and injured three others after a domestic spat spun out of control early Saturday, police said.
The chaos unfolded in a residential home around 2:35 a.m. After the lunatic got into an altercation with his girlfriend, KHOU 11 reported. The alleged gunmen stormed out of the house to grab his gun from an unknown location before returning and opening fire, striking the four victims. It is not clear if the person he fatally shot was his girlfriend.
The suspect fled the scene and remains on the loose, cops said. Houston police have not released a description of the gunman or the identities of the victims. Investigators are working to determine the relationship between the shooter and the four people struck by gunfire.
In the viral moment that preceded the bloodshed, the suspect had been inside the home engaged in a heated domestic dispute with his girlfriend. The argument escalated to the point where the man exited the residence specifically to retrieve a firearm from an undisclosed location, authorities said. He then returned to the house and unleashed a barrage of gunfire that left one woman dead and three others wounded. The precise sequence of events inside the home and whether the victims were targeted or caught in indiscriminate fire remains under investigation.
Houston has seen a string of deadly domestic violence incidents in recent months. In April, a 44-year-old woman was shot and killed by her estranged husband during a domestic disturbance in northwest Harris County, prompting a multi-agency response that ended with the armed suspect in custody after he fired at arriving officers. In that case, two children, ages 6 and 18, were inside the residence when the shooting happened. “I’d like to ask that you keep the family in your prayers. Those kids, they witnessed a tragedy that they will never forget,” said HCSO Major Cedrick Collier at the time.
