The Eye-Watering Cost to Rent Madison Square Garden as Taylor Swift Wedding Rumors Swirl

Anyone dreaming of booking Madison Square Garden for a wedding might want to start saving early, because renting the iconic venue reportedly comes with a staggering price tag.

Speculation has been building that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce could be getting married in New York this weekend, with rumors claiming they have reserved Madison Square Garden for what many are already calling one of the biggest celebrity weddings in recent memory.

As of June 29, 2026, however, neither Swift nor Kelce has publicly confirmed any wedding date, venue, or guest list details.

Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs star, reportedly proposed to Swift last summer after the pair had been together for two years, and they announced their engagement nearly a year ago.

Although their engagement reportedly took place in a private setting at Kelce’s home, talk surrounding the wedding suggests the celebration itself will be anything but low-key, with reports pointing to a guest list of around 1,000 people.

Names such as Graham Norton, Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, and Suki Waterhouse have all been mentioned as possible attendees.

If the rumors are accurate, the couple would have to spend an enormous amount to secure the venue. TMZ has reported that hiring Madison Square Garden for a single night costs about $1,000,000, though that figure has not been publicly confirmed by the arena.

There has been no official confirmation that Swift and Kelce are set to marry at MSG, despite the venue being one where Swift has famously performed eight times. Even so, several reported details have fueled the theory.

One point repeatedly raised is that there are no public ticketed performances scheduled at Madison Square Garden in the days leading into the July 4 weekend, though the arena is still listed for other activity during that period.

There have also been claims that invited guests were told to be in New York on July 2 and July 3, without being given any more specific information.

“Taylor and Travis told guests to be in NYC. No other location was provided,” an insider told Us Weekly, adding: “They’re putting their guests on hold for a couple days. They are spending a lot of money, in the millions.”

Recent reporting has pointed to a pair of events, with one smaller gathering said to be planned for July 2 and a larger celebration expected the following day. Public records reviewed by multiple outlets also show a permit filed for loading and unloading theatrical materials at the arena from June 29 to July 4, along with a separate application for a canopy or tent outside the Garden for an event involving up to 999 people.

Reports have also suggested that several of Kelce’s Chiefs teammates have reserved hotel rooms close to Times Square for around July 3.

Madison Square Garden does host private events, but the venue’s published rental information shows that its event spaces vary widely in size and capacity, from smaller lounges to larger hospitality areas. The arena’s private-event listings also note that the Garden can be rented for functions including receptions, dinners, and private parties.

For now, though, fans are still waiting to see whether the reports turn out to be true.
