And it’s not just his appearance that has improved since quitting: “One of the greatest things about being clean is that I got to be sober to see my sister have her baby girl,” Ryan said.
Ryan also described how when he first started using meth he refused to believe he was addicted and thought he had “a special or unique self-control” unlike other addicts.
“I can’t even describe how badly it hurt my family. I lost almost all of my friends, but they’re slowly coming back into my life. I absolutely could not hold a job. I have like 5 felonies on my record and a ton of misdemeanor charges.”
