Woman Reads Books To Shelter Dogs To Ease Their Loneliness

It’s said that we can judge a society by how it treats its weakest members. If that’s the case, this lady from North Shore in Pittsburgh is doing a fine job representing humans.

A redditor nicknamed puglife123 recently shared a photo of the lady reading a book called “The pup and the biscuit” to a shelter dog — an old lady pit bull named Jade.

The photo was captured at the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society where puglife123 volunteers as a dog walker.

Whilst the dogs at the shelter wouldn’t understand what the lady is reading (even if it is about a pup), hearing a calm human voice is thought to comfort animals. It’s a beautiful reminder of the importance of kindness to all creatures.
