This Tiny One Pound Baby Deer Born In NYC Zoo Is The Cutest Thing Ever

This male deer fawn is a tiny, tiny thing — measuring six inches long and weighing just one pound, he’s as heavy as a loaf of bread.

The baby deer was born on May 12th at Queens Zoo, NYC. He belongs to a species of deer called Pudu, which is the smallest in the world.

Pudu are a subspecies of the South American deer and are solitary animals, interacting socially only to mate. Pudu are so tiny, they consider the horned owl a predator.

Queens Zoo currently has three Pudu deer on display. This adorable baby deer is still nursing but will soon be eating leaves, grain, kale, carrots, and hay.

The white spots on this Pudu fawn’s brown fur will disappear as he grows up. In his case, however, “growing up” won’t be much of a vertical process.

Could there be anything cuter than this?
