A transgender former school bus driver in Ontario is suing after being fired for wearing a revealing outfit and branding a route the “Lolita Line.”
L.Z., as the driver is identified in court filings, was dismissed in 2025 from the York Catholic District School Board after parents raised alarms about the conduct. The driver has since filed suit against both the school district and the bus company, alleging discrimination based on ethnic origin, gender identity, and sex, according to court documents.

The driver’s appearance drew particular scrutiny. Images that circulated showed L.Z. At the bus door dressed in a short pink skirt, frilly white top, and knee-high stockings. A placard reading “Lolita Line” was also reportedly placed in the bus window, a reference to Vladimir Nabokov’s 1955 novel about a middle-aged man’s sexual obsession with a 12-year-old girl. That nickname also matched the widely known moniker for Jeffrey Epstein’s private jet.
When confronted by parents about the behavior, L.Z. Pushed back directly.
“I do this every day, and I don’t think there is an issue,” L.Z. Said in a video of the confrontation. “What’s the problem?”
The firing came after those parent complaints, but L.Z. Quickly moved to legal action. The lawsuit claims discrimination because the plaintiff is “a transgender woman.” The driver also sought to have their name blocked from public court records, citing safety threats.

That anonymity request was granted, though the decision itself had the opposite effect. The case became public specifically because the name block was approved, drawing further attention to the dispute.
National Post columnist Jamie Sarkonak, who uncovered the case, questioned L.Z.’s motives in a blunt assessment.
“It’s unclear whether this individual is mentally ill, simply engaging in a stunt to take advantage of an overzealous, unaccountable human rights system, or something else altogether,” Sarkonak wrote.
She continued: “No rational adult would show up to a job with proximity to kids in a skimpy costume and a reference to a novel about the sexual abuse of a child by a middle-aged man … and then revive the controversy by engaging in lawfare.”
The case has stirred memories of another Ontario school employee whose conduct generated sustained controversy. In 2022, teacher Kayla Lemieux, a biological male, made headlines for months after wearing conspicuously large prosthetic breasts under tight clothing to class. The school initially supported Lemieux, with the principal implementing safety measures and police even providing an escort for the commute. Lemieux eventually abandoned the look, leading one parent to tell The Post: “It’s disingenuous. And it’s obvious now it was all an attention grab at the expense of children’s safety.”

The L.Z. Lawsuit remains active as the case proceeds through Ontario’s human rights tribunal system.
