Two Women Make History By Passing US Army’s Elite Ranger School

History was made this week when two women completed arguably the toughest combat training course in the world, which aims to develop elite fighters and leaders.

The US Army’s elite Ranger school won’t confirm the name of the women, saying only that they were among 96 soldiers who will graduate this Friday at Fort Benning, Georgia, with the coveted Ranger tab.

The course started on April 20th and since then, three-quarters of the trainees quit the grueling training, which included limited meals, sleep deprivation and physical tests in harsh conditions — all while hauling a 60-pound rucksack.

However, even though the two new female graduates will be the first women allowed to wear the prestigious Ranger Tab on their uniforms, they are still not allowed to try out for the elite 75th Ranger Regiment.

The Special Operations force remains closed to women and has its own separate, exhausting requirements and training. But we reckon it’s only a matter of time before they too, admit women to join their ranks.

Well done, ladies!
