A bystander physically shoved two California influencers away from an ambulance after they allegedly staged a photo shoot inside the emergency vehicle while paramedics tried to load a patient.
The confrontation, captured in a clip that surged across TikTok and Reddit this week, shows a man in all-white attire reclining on the ambulance gurney with a cigarette dangling from his mouth as a woman photographed him. Nearby, emergency responders worked to prepare an actual patient for transport. The footage ends with an unidentified passerby intervening to clear the path, allowing paramedics to finally load the patient into the vehicle.
The TikTok creator @Daadi, who has built a following by documenting influencer misbehavior, seized on the clip and dissected it for his audience. He highlighted the legal jeopardy the pair had invited under California law.
“So after smoking inside of an emergency vehicle, and blocking the paramedics from transporting a patient, you have the audacity to argue with them when they ask you to move?” he spluttered in his video response. He labeled the episode “peak influencer dystopia,” declaring that the “entire world is becoming a stage for the most vapid people imaginable to perform on their phones.”

@Daadi backed his critique with a screenshot of California Penal Code section 148(a)(1), which classifies delaying or obstructing emergency personnel as a misdemeanor. Violators face up to one year in jail, a $1,000 fine, or both. The influencers’ stunt checked multiple boxes: smoking in the confined space, occupying the gurney, and refusing to yield until physically removed.

Social media reaction split between outrage and disbelief. “Can we stop using the word ‘influencer’ and replace it with ‘dumbass’ or something?” suggested one Redditor. Another wrote, “It is the extra entitlement when they seem unfazed by someone on the stretcher trying to get in the ambulance, an emergency vehicle…”
The brazenness of the scene prompted even jaded viewers to question its authenticity. “Surely this has to be fake,” wrote one commenter. “It has to be. For my sanity, it has to be.”

The video marks the latest entry in a growing catalog of influencer stunts that prioritize viral content over public safety and basic decency. The male subject’s cigarette, the deliberate posing on medical equipment, and the woman’s continued photography despite the unfolding emergency all underscored a performative detachment from the situation’s gravity. The bystander’s physical intervention—unusual in an era where most such encounters are merely filmed—suggested the scene had exhausted the patience of witnesses on the ground.
Neither of the individuals involved has been publicly identified, and no law enforcement action has been confirmed as of this report. The patient being loaded into the ambulance has not been named, and their condition remains unknown.
The incident follows a pattern of social media creators commandeering public and emergency spaces for content, from hospital corridors to active disaster zones, often generating backlash that becomes its own viral cycle. The @Daadi account has capitalized on this phenomenon, regularly aggregating and condemning what its operator sees as the most egregious examples of the trend.
