The song has surpassed 100 million Spotify streams and has been used in more than 20,000 TikTok videos, including one from Lady Gaga.

Nielsen reported this week that the Addams Family reboot series, Wednesday, which debuted on Netflix in November, streamed for nearly 6 billion minutes, making it the second-most streamed series in a single week after Stranger Things’ fourth season.

The series has also garnered a viral fandom online. The series, which follows oldest daughter Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) at boarding school, particularly resonated with multicultural viewers, with one-fourth of the audience tuning in from Hispanic households.

The show references Wednesday’s Latin roots, with one scene showing Wednesday telling her friends that the Addams keep a Día De Los Muertos altar up all year long and Wednesday receiving an ancient Aztec artifact as a gift from her mother Morticia.

According to Nielsen, Netflix’s strategy of releasing high-profile new series ahead of American holidays has been successful. Wednesday, released on November 23rd just before Thanksgiving, has become Netflix’s top-streamed English-language series for the past four weeks since its debut, clocking in at 6 billion streams in the first week.

This is the second-highest streaming record ever, with Stranger Things having the highest at 7 billion streams in the first week after its fourth season release on Memorial Day weekend. Nielsen also reported that 60% of Wednesday viewers were female and more than half of them were between the ages of 18 and 49.

The series had racked up nearly 147 million hours in view time as of Sunday.
