A woman from California was found alive at the bottom of a 250-foot cliff a week after she had gone missing.
23-year-old Angela Hernandez survived a traumatizing car crash by using her car’s radiator hose to siphon fresh water as she was trapped on a cliff for seven days.
Angela was driving from Portland to Lancaster to visit her sister. As she was passing through Big Sur, a small animal stepped onto the road causing her to swerve and lose control of her car.
She fell 250 feet down a ravine. She was injured severely and her car was partially submerged in water.
She couldn’t remember falling down the cliff. But despite her injuries she tried to get out of her car. She spent the first few days wandering around the beach trying desperately to find help.
On the third day, she felt the effects of dehydration. When she went back to her car, she noticed a black hose popping out from the hood. She then used the hose to siphon water from water that trickled down from the rocks.
Police launched a manhunt with a $10,000 reward after her family notified them of her disappearance.
After being trapped for seven days down the cliff, she saw a woman walking near the beach. She yelled for help and was assisted by a woman and her husband who had found her car. They immediately called for help.
Angela was then airlifted to the Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton after being rescued.
Her family had started a GoFundMe page when she was missing to help aid efforts to find her. But now that Angela has been found, the donations will be used to help her recover from her injuries.
“I’m sharing this again because any little bit helps, it will all be going my sister who lost so much and gained so much all in one time. This is very traumatic and will be a slow recovery process.
Thank you all for everything you’ve done, my sister is very in awe of you all.”
