Kanye West is hoping to convert his online trolling into a profitable business move by trademarking terms he’s used in social media slams against former acquaintances.
Ye has applied to trademark the terms “Tremendez” and “Good to hear from you bitch.” Both were utilized in his heated debate with erstwhile buddy Tremaine Emory.
Tremaine was one of the first people to openly criticize Kanye following his Yeezy fashion show, when he unveiled the “White Lives Matter” shirt, since he was upset that Ye used Virgil Abloh’s name when addressing the crowd before the event.
Tremaine wrote, “I gotta draw the line at you using Virgil’s death in your ‘ye’ is the victim campaign in front of your sycophant peanut algorithm gallery.”
He then defended Vogue editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, whom Ye had chastised when she critiqued the Yeezy show.
Not shortly after Tremaine’s post, Kanye shared a private text message exchange in which he welcomed Tremaine with, “Good to hear from you bitch” – the basis for his new trademark.
From there, Ye continued to bash Tremaine on social media, “AND TO TREMAINE I’M CHANGING YOUR NAME FOREEEEEVVVVVRRRRR. TREMAIN’S NEW NAME AS THE BLM OFFICER AT SUPREME ISSSS TREMENDEZ.”
Kanye also designed a logo identical to the Supreme logo, for which Tremaine is the creative director, and replaced the term “Tremendez” with the other trademark he’s registered.
Petty? ? Will he profit from it? You already know it will.
