Greta Thunberg, the 19-year-old climate activist, has been in the news for a new, unexpected reason – leaving the internet in awe. Thunberg slammed influencer and former kickboxer Andrew Tate for taking environmental conservation as a joke.
Her response was so savage it has earned her praise from Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who recently tweeted that she was “cool”.
Musk tweeted, “The sheer amount of brand awareness achieved by Greta within a few years is astounding. I think she’s cool tbh,” while replying to a post about a thermostat with Thunberg’s face on it.
Andrew Tate, a self-proclaimed luxury car enthusiast, took a dig at environmental activist Greta Thunberg after boasting about his collection of cars and their carbon emissions.
Tate tagged Thunberg on Twitter in a sarcastic post, to which the young climate campaigner responded with a sharp reply.
Today, it was announced that the Tate brothers, once celebrated combat sportspersons, will be detained in prison for 30 days while police investigate allegations of sexual exploitation of six women.
The brothers have recently gained notoriety for their misogynistic online commentary.
In 2016, Big Brother contestant was removed from the show after a video surfaced that appeared to show him hitting a woman with a belt.
The following year, he drew criticism after suggesting that women should “bear responsibility” for being sexually assaulted, a remark that resulted in him being banned from Twitter.
Last month, however, the ban was lifted.
