Miley Cyrus reveals why she doesn’t socialize with many celebrities

Miley Cyrus has candidly shared insights on her social interactions within the celebrity world, despite her lifelong immersion in it due to her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, and her early fame as the star of Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana. Despite a successful music career and a recent Grammy win, Miley is not usually seen socializing with her famous peers.

During her appearance on season five of David Letterman’s Netflix show *My Next Guest Needs No Introduction*, which debuted on June 12, Miley disclosed her reasons for not being more socially active in her celebrity circles. “It just doesn’t feel like my people when I’m in that room,” Miley admitted, indicating a sense of alienation from the typical celebrity gatherings.

However, Miley does feel a connection with certain artists. She mentioned, “There are certain artists like Beyoncé – who, like us, we’ve known each other for a long time.”

Miley’s collaboration with Beyoncé on the track ‘II Most Wanted’ from Beyoncé’s album *Cowboy Carter* is a testament to their long-standing relationship. Following the album’s release, Miley expressed her gratitude towards Beyoncé on Instagram, sharing how her respect and admiration for her have only deepened after working together.

Miley also reminisced about a memorable performance at the 2008 Stand Up to Cancer event at Radio City Music Hall, where she performed ‘Just Stand Up’ alongside stars like Rihanna and Mariah Carey. Despite feeling out of place as a young and less polished star among such illustrious company, Miley recalled how Beyoncé’s kindness made a lasting impression on her.

Today, Miley values friendships based on “kindness and consistency,” and while she may not frequently engage in celebrity social circles, she cherishes the meaningful connections she does have. Her approach emphasizes quality over quantity in relationships, shaping a unique path within her community.
