Zac Efron opens up after hospitalization due to pool mishap in Ibiza

Zac Efron has spoken out after being hospitalized due to a pool incident in Ibiza.

Over the weekend, news surfaced that the Hollywood actor had to be pulled out of a swimming pool by staff members at a villa on the Spanish island.

Reports indicate that the 36-year-old was in the water when he became distressed for reasons that have not been disclosed, prompting two staff members to assist him out of the pool.

Efron’s representatives informed TMZ that he experienced a ‘minor swimming incident’ and was taken to the hospital as a ‘precautionary measure.’

The incident caused concern among fans online, with one Twitter user expressing their worries.

They tweeted: “So ZacEefron was hospitalized because he was found in a pool by two people but entertainment tonight said that it was ‘minor’… doesn’t sound minor to me.”

According to Efron, however, the situation was indeed minor, and he has provided an update.

The High School Musical star took to Instagram to reassure his fans about his recovery.

He shared a photo on his Instagram Story, showing himself in swimming trunks while working out with large dumbbells on an exercise ball.

The actor captioned the image: “Happy and healthy – thanks for the well wishes.”

Efron has been traveling around Europe recently and attended ‘Prelude To The Olympics’ at Fondation Louis Vuitton on July 25 in Paris, France.

During his European tour, the star has been seen enjoying his time on the Spanish party island.

He even joined close friend Martin Garrix on stage during a DJ set at Ushuaïa, reminiscent of scenes from his 2015 movie We Are Your Friends.

This isn’t the first time Efron has faced hospitalization. In 2013, he ‘nearly died’ from an accident that resulted in a broken jaw.

Efron reportedly slipped while running through his home in socks, hitting his face on a granite fountain.

Following the accident, his jaw bone was said to be hanging off his face, necessitating it to be wired shut.
