Terrifying moment Sabrina Carpenter narrowly escapes firework mishap during performance

Startling video footage has documented the moment Sabrina Carpenter screamed as a firework exploded next to her while she was on stage.

The ‘Please Please Please’ singer was performing at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on Saturday (August 10) when the incident happened.

A video shared on Twitter captures Carpenter, 25, screaming and covering her mouth as she hurriedly descended from a platform while fireworks ignited around her.

She looked visibly frightened and moved to another part of the stage as dancers continued performing around her. Some reports indicate she might have been ‘hit in the chest’ by the firework.

Despite the scare, Carpenter reportedly emerged from the incident unharmed and made no mention of it when she later posted about her performance on social media.

In images she shared on Instagram, Carpenter wrote: “Headlined Outside Lands. Thank you to everyone who came.”

“Special thank you to the angel that is Kacey Musgraves for coming out to sing and dance to Nancy Sinatra with me. And thank you to my whole team and crew.”

“All the talented people who made this show happen on and off stage, I love you all so much.”

Although Carpenter seemed to be physically unhurt by the firework incident, her fans were alarmed after seeing the footage online.

Several people reacted to the incident on Twitter, with one person writing: “Wait omg I think Sabrina Carpenter got hurt and burned by the fireworks!!”

Another concerned individual added: “THATS A HORROR MOVIE SCREAM IS SHE OKAY [sic].”

“She almost got burned,” commented a third.

Carpenter’s performance in San Francisco was her first-ever festival headlining set and included a special appearance by country star Kacey Musgraves, who joined Carpenter for a cover of ‘These Boots Are Made for Walkin”.

Musgraves referenced Carpenter’s hit song ‘Espresso’ in her post-performance message, writing: “We were working late ‘cause we are singers. Last night was a short n sweet little dream. ily @sabrinacarpenter. Thanks for having meeee.”

Following her headline performance, Carpenter is set to embark on her Short n’ Sweet Tour, which includes performances in the US, France, Scotland, the Netherlands, and Spain.

Expressing her excitement about the upcoming tour, Carpenter wrote on Instagram: “Soooo excited to bring the Short n’ Sweet Tour to Europe & the UK!!”

Singer-songwriter Rachel Chinouriri will join Carpenter on her tour.
