It appears Rebel Wilson has recently married her partner, Ramona Agruma.
The Pitch Perfect actress revealed her relationship status to the public in June 2022, celebrating her new romance by sharing her joy on social media, referring to Agruma as her ‘Disney princess’.
At that time, Wilson posted a selfie with Agruma, a fashion designer, and wrote: “I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince… but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princess.”
Since then, their relationship has progressed rapidly. The couple welcomed a daughter via surrogate in November 2022.
On Valentine’s Day last year, the Isn’t It Romantic star proposed to Agruma at Disneyland, creating a memorable moment.
The couple have frequently been seen together, attending various red carpet events and showing support for each other.
Reports now suggest that Agruma and Wilson are officially married.
According to a source close to the couple, they got married in Sardinia, Italy, on September 28.
Wilson’s journey hasn’t been devoid of challenges. She claimed that an Australian newspaper had threatened to ‘out her’ before she publicly acknowledged her relationship with Agruma.
Discussing the situation, Wilson told The Australian: “I just thought it was kind of grubby behavior.”
“Basically, with the situation where a journalist is threatening to out you, you’ve got to hurry, and some people we didn’t get a chance to tell before it came out publicly,” the 44-year-old said, calling the experience ‘not ideal’.
The Sydney Morning Herald had given Wilson’s representatives 27 hours to comment on the article it intended to publish about her new romance.
However, Wilson decided to take control of the narrative by sharing the news herself on social media, preempting the article by gossip columnist Andrew Hornery, who later apologized for his actions.
While Wilson’s family has been ‘amazing’ in their support, Agruma’s family has reportedly been less accepting.
“Ramona’s family hasn’t been as accepting,” Wilson shared on the Life Uncut podcast last year.
“In many respects, it has been a lot harder on her to have to make the news public.”
“With her, she’s not in the public eye, it’s much harder on her. It’s so sad to see what happened with her family over it. Hopefully, people will change their attitude about things.”
One can hope that Agruma’s family has become more accepting following the couple’s recent marriage.
