Lizzo has given fans a glimpse into her daily meals since moving away from a vegan lifestyle.
The singer of ‘About Damn Time’ has consistently kept her followers informed about her weight loss journey. Recently, there were allegations suggesting she might be using Ozempic, a medication for type 2 diabetes that can cause weight loss as a side effect.
On Thursday, October 10, the 36-year-old posted an Instagram Reel showcasing her meals to her 11.7 million followers.
In the video titled ‘What I Eat in a Day: as a Former Vegan’, Lizzo starts her day with egg white cups accompanied by cauliflower hash browns and fruit for breakfast.
For lunch, she opted for a Buffalo chicken lettuce wrap with a generous amount of mustard. Another meal consisted of grilled chicken with asparagus and carrots.
Lizzo, whose real name is Melissa Jefferson, also hydrated with lemon water, homemade peach iced tea, and a popular TikTok drink—okra water, known for its digestive benefits and skin-clearing properties.
In the voiceover, Lizzo expressed her curiosity about the effects of animal protein on her body. She acknowledged that eating meat is the most suitable diet for her, though she still dreams of being ‘a raw, alkaline vegan.’
The comments section buzzed with discussions, as anticipated.
One commenter noted, “You realize that you can get plenty of protein as a vegan right?” Another shared, “That ‘former vegan’ part hurts, because no one needs to eat animal products to maintain their health.”
Others defended her choices, with one saying, “Whatever she does, people still ain’t happy. She looks great!” and another adding, “You look amazing. Eat what makes your body and mind function the best. BUT mustard on buffalo chicken is diabolical”.
This update follows Lizzo’s response to rumors that her weight loss is due to Ozempic use.
The artist posted another Instagram reel recently, ending with the caption: “When you finally get ozempic allegations after 5 months of weight training and calorie deficit.”
She also featured a screenshot of a comment from a social media user accusing her of using Ozempic.
Even the show South Park has made harsh jokes about the star purportedly using the medication.
However, in an interview with The New York Times in March, Lizzo firmly stated that her weight loss journey hasn’t involved shortcuts: “I’ve been methodical, losing weight very slowly.”
She further shared in another conversation, “I don’t really see it because if anyone who’s on a natural weight-loss journey knows, losing weight is actually the slowest thing in the world and you don’t really notice it until you notice it.”
