Beyonce’s world tour is set to kick off this month, but there are rumors that the music icon is not selling as many tickets as anticipated.
Over the past two decades, Beyonce has been one of the most prominent figures in music. However, her reign could be at risk if reports of slow ticket sales are accurate.
The star launched her Cowboy Carter tour on April 28 at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, but before the show, she faced some criticism from rapper 50 Cent on social media.
In a social media post, 50 Cent shared a TMZ article that claimed over 3,800 tickets were still available and expressed his astonishment.
“👀 s*** getting real out here,” he commented alongside the screenshot. “🤔 Hey the tickets ain’t selling?”
Reports indicated that resale prices had plummeted, with some seats being offered for as low as $20.
There were even jokes online about people deciding whether to purchase Beyonce tickets or opt for a McDonald’s Minecraft Meal instead.
These criticisms of Beyonce certainly riled up the Beyhive, prompting many fans to defend her and call out 50 Cent.
One Twitter user remarked: “Alot of them are jealous of Beyonce’s success. We all know 50 Cent is MASSIVELY jealous of Papa Jay too.
“Y’all don’t focus on negative vibes, the tour is just too beautiful. Positive vibes only!”
Another added: “50 cent trying to come for Beyonce is the weakest shit I’ve ever seen!
@50cent BE A MAN BX.”
A third chimed in: “50 cent is a bitter and despicable human being, trash attracts flies. Beyoncé’s fanbase will always support her and those haters will stay mad forever.”
Conversely, some people suggested they weren’t shocked by the potential lack of interest in Beyonce tickets.
One individual commented: “She’s overrated. She came to my city years ago and only sold about 100 tickets in the arena. Her team is amazing for making it seem like she’s some god.”
Another remarked: “Cowboy Carter wasn’t a popular album, and since this tour is focused only on that album I can see why no one cares to go.”
A third person said: “nobody wants to hear that chop album live – she should have paused on touring after renaissance world tour.”
Nonetheless, fans put off by high ticket prices may take advantage of the opportunity to secure $20 seats, so it could end up being a win-win situation for all.
