Justin Bieber recently found himself at the center of criticism from his fans after sharing an unusual Instagram caption meant to celebrate his wife’s latest success.
Hailey Bieber, a well-known model, reached a significant career milestone by gracing the cover of Vogue, much to the delight of her supporters.
In an attempt to highlight this achievement, Justin Bieber made a post on social media, but it didn’t quite go as expected.
On May 20, the pop star took to Instagram to reveal that he had previously made a harsh comment about her modeling prospects, acknowledging that he was wrong.
However, the post did not sit well with some fans, who expressed their displeasure.
In the original caption, Justin wrote: “Yo, this reminds me when Hailey and I got into a huge fight. I told Hails that she would never be on the cover of Vogue.
“Yikes I know, so mean. For some reason because I felt so disrespected. I thought I gotta get even.
“I think as we mature we realize that we’re not helping anything by getting even we’re honestly just prolonging what we really want which is intimacy and connection.”
He concluded: “So baby u already know but forgive me for saying u wouldn’t get a Vogue cover cuz clearly I was sadly mistaken.”
While the caption was intended to celebrate Hailey’s success, it instead sparked critical responses from fans.
One fan remarked: “Some things are best kept to yourself. Like this caption.”
Another added: “She doesn’t need haters she already has you.”
An upset fan commented: “Congrats on taking one of Hailey’s biggest moments and making it about you. Now no one’s talking about rhode at sephora, or about how strong she is bc of her 18 hour long delivery. they’re talking about how much you hate her.”
Despite the backlash, some fans stood by Bieber, appreciating his honesty.
One supporter said: “Why the people saying ‘so unnecessary’ Justin being honest, [on] his social media, respect.”
Someone else commented: “People think relationships are perfect and that there are no arguments, he was honest and everything is fine. Be happy, and let JB be happy. Who has never had a bad fight with their partner?”
