Gypsy-Rose Blanchard has made her way back to social media, revealing a career shift that has left many online users puzzled.
At 34, Gypsy was previously given a decade-long prison sentence in 2016 after admitting guilt in the murder of her mother, Claudine ‘Dee Dee’ Blanchard.
Dee Dee had fabricated the notion that Gypsy was a critically ill child, forcing her to use a wheelchair, shaving her hair, and administering unnecessary medication.
The situation escalated when Gypsy connected with Nicholas ‘Nick’ Godejohn online. Their relationship blossomed, culminating in a plan where Godejohn murdered Dee Dee in 2015. Gypsy allowed him into their home and provided him with the knife used to stab her mother 17 times.
Although sentenced to ten years in 2016, Gypsy was released in December 2023 after serving seven years.
Since her release, Gypsy has had a baby girl with partner Ken Urker in December of last year, shortly after her divorce from ex-husband Ryan Anderson.
She completed her parole in June and reportedly moved in with Urker soon after, according to PEOPLE.
After taking a hiatus from social media due to issues with her ex-husband, Gypsy has returned, embarking on a new career path.
She shared the news via a video on Instagram and TikTok under the name BlownBeauty Art, stating: “Hi everyone, welcome to my new art page. I’m excited to share my creations with everyone.
“Art is something that I think resonates with a lot of people, because, with abstract art, it doesn’t have to be perfect—and I’ve never been one of those girls that colored inside the lines.”
According to Parade, she added: “So, I’m excited to make something special for everyone. I would love to create pieces for people to bring them joy and happiness; in life, we go through things that sometimes are really hard, so if we could find one thing that brings us peace and centers us inside our soul, then it’s worth doing and sharing.
“So, I am more than happy to share my passion with you guys and I hope you like it.”
Gypsy’s decision has led to mixed reactions online, with some expressing confusion and others believing she deserves a chance to move forward.
One commenter remarked: “As an actual artist and art teacher….I am insulted,” while another noted: “She NEVER finishes a project THERE IS ALWAYS A NEW CHAPTER.”
However, a supporter commented: “Actually think this is a pretty good idea. She’s trying to earn a living guys. There’s nothing wrong with that.”
