Charlie Sheen has revealed that he has not communicated with his daughter Sami for over a year since she became active on OnlyFans in 2022.
Sami Sheen joined the platform as a creator three years ago, attracted by the flexibility of setting her own schedule and the opportunity to earn independently.
Initially, her mom, Denise Richards, was hesitant and advised her to reconsider her decision.
The Golden-Globe winning actor, Sheen, had a comparable reaction, expressing to Bustle: “I had a knee-jerk reaction to it because of the reputation that preceded it. I was just like, ‘Oh, this can only go bad.'”
Sheen acknowledged that this reaction wasn’t typical for him, but explained: “I think when your child is involved, it presents as just a whole different alternative set of circumstances.”
Consequently, Sheen has confessed that he has not been in contact with Sami for a year after their disagreement over her decision to pursue a career on OnlyFans.
“Yeah, it’s awful. I can’t lie to you. But I’m almost unrealistically optimistic, because I have to be … there’s always shots to repair anything,” he told Page Six.
“It saddens me, but I have hope and I have faith that it can be restored, but that can’t happen until there’s a line of communication that reopens.”
Previously, Sami had the support of her father. Sheen told Bustle: “She’s doing this and it can only be a much more successful and pleasant experience with the support of myself, her mom, and others.
“I have to have confidence and just know in my heart that all of her virtues and all the wonderfulness that makes her, her, come with her. I believe her to be incorruptible.”
Upon joining the adult-oriented platform, Sami faced significant backlash but also received encouragement from some supporters.
“I could have mascara running down my face, and they would still be like, ‘You’re so beautiful,’ this and this,” she said. “They just made me realize some of the stuff that other people are saying on the internet is just not true.”
Sheen is currently engaging with the media to promote “aka Charlie Sheen,” a new Netflix documentary that explores his life.
The documentary covers his life experiences in his own words, featuring stories from his second ex-wife, Denise Richards, Oscar-winner Sean Penn, and comedian Chris Tucker.
In it, Sheen candidly discusses his encounters with same-sex relationships, describing the experiences as ‘f****ng liberating’.
