Netflix subscribers have limited time to watch highly-rated thriller series with 200m viewing hours

Netflix viewers have a limited time to catch a spy thriller that has received a 96 percent rating and is described as ‘seductive and surprising.’

Premiering in 2018, this dark comedy series quickly captivated audiences in the US, establishing a devoted fan base.

The allure of the show is so strong that some fans have confessed to hurrying home to watch it.

It is not surprising that the series has accumulated 200 million streaming hours globally on Netflix since 2023, according to FlixPatrol statistics.

However, despite joining Netflix only last year, it is set to be removed shortly.

Typically, shows leave the platform due to expiring license agreements. Occasionally, these agreements are renewed, but it’s best not to rely on that happening…

Consider this your notice if you wish to experience or re-experience this thrilling drama series.

The show was created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, known for Fleabag, and was broadcast over four seasons and 32 episodes from 2018 to 2022.

The storyline centers on Eve Polastri, portrayed by Sandra Oh, a British intelligence officer fixated on capturing Villanelle, a brilliant yet psychopathic assassin played by Jodie Comer.

As their lives become more intertwined, the distinction between pursuer and pursued blurs.

Despite shifting focus to Villanelle’s mysterious organization, the bond between the two characters becomes undeniable.

The chemistry between the lead characters has captivated viewers, with many finding the series irresistibly ‘addictive’ in a way that was previously unimaginable.

The series in question is Killing Eve, based on Luke Jennings’ Codename Villanelle novels.

All four seasons became available on Netflix US in April 2024 but are scheduled for removal on Wednesday, October 15.

Critics awarded Killing Eve’s first season a near-perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Describing the show as ‘seductive and surprising,’ they praised it for its innovative take on the spy-versus-spy theme, highlighting Sandra Oh’s performance.

Viewers rated the first season highly as well, with one fan commenting: “Captivating, dramatic, addictive and different. I love the dark comedy and the fact that it’s strewn with just the right amount of drama… I couldn’t have loved it more!”

Another viewer called it a ‘wonderful, unexpected’ drama, noting the ‘fantastic’ chemistry between Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer.

“This is my new favorite TV series,” another fan remarked. “It is immediately addicting and definitely binge-worthy. Definite must see!”

Killing Eve will no longer be available on Netflix starting Wednesday, October 15. UK audiences can still watch it on BBC iPlayer.
