Jessica Simpson has shared the story of the time Ashton Kutcher discovered she was still a virgin.
At the age of 22, Simpson guest-starred in That ’70s Show, portraying Annette Berkardt, the love interest of Kutcher’s character, Michael Kelso.
Now 45, Simpson recently chatted with Entertainment Tonight, reflecting on her past TV interviews.
During a particular interview from 2002, Simpson had just completed filming with Kutcher.
“I was just shooting a scene with Ashton, ‘Michael’, and I was telling him that we couldn’t do it because I was still a virgin,” the 22-year-old Simpson had said.
Although she was referencing a scene from That ’70s Show, Simpson was indeed a virgin in real life at that time.

“I’ll never forgot telling Ashton I was a virgin [in real life],” she recounted in a recent interview. “He was like, ‘why?'”
Simpson explained that she had not yet met her husband at that time, which was why she had chosen to abstain.
“At this age I’m very innocent. I’m not thinking about other people and their sex lives at all, but I’ve always been open. Legs crossed, but open,” she said, reflecting on the 2002 interview.
Simpson has consistently been open about her stance on virginity. In a 2000 interview, she told PEOPLE (via news.au.com): “My virginity is something I stand strong in. It’s not always easy, but I do respect it. Virginity can be cool and sexy.”
In the same year she filmed with Kutcher, Simpson married Nick Lachey, whom she met in 1998.
Their marriage gained widespread attention with the launch of their reality series Newlyweds in 2003. After three seasons, the couple parted ways in 2005.
They released a joint statement: “After three years of marriage, and careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways.
“This is the mutual decision of two people with an enormous amount of respect and admiration for each other. We hope that you respect our privacy during this difficult time.”
Simpson filed for divorce in December that year, and it was finalized in July 2006, according to PEOPLE.
Lachey later married Vanessa Joy Minnillo in 2011, and they now co-host the popular Netflix dating show Love Is Blind.
Simpson went on to marry NFL star Eric Johnson in 2014. The couple separated earlier this year.
