Jake Paul suffered a severe injury after facing two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua on Friday evening (December 19).
The two competed at the Kaseya Center in Miami, with Joshua emerging victorious over the YouTuber-turned-boxer, concluding the bout in the sixth round.
The match stretched over six rounds of three minutes each before Joshua secured the win, knocking Paul out following several knockdowns.
The much-anticipated event had a slow beginning, as both Joshua and Paul struggled to connect with significant punches, with Paul moving around the ring to evade confrontation.
In the sixth round, Joshua delivered a decisive blow that not only ended the fight but also caused a serious injury to Paul.

Following the match, Paul was seen spitting blood and disclosed that Joshua had broken his jaw.
“Anthony’s a great fighter, I got my ass beat but that’s what this sport’s about,” Paul commented.
“I think my jaw is broken by the way.
“Yeah, it’s definitely broke. But man that was good. A nice little a** whipping from one of the best to ever do it.
“I love this so I’m going to come back and get a world championship belt at some point.”
Paul later verified that his jaw sustained two fractures, posting on X: “Double broken jaw. Give me Canelo in 10 days.”
He also posted an X-ray image of the injury, showing two fractures.
Many were taken aback that Paul managed to endure six rounds against Joshua, though Paul believed he could have continued had he possessed ‘better cardio’.
“I’m not surprised, I just got tired,” he noted.
“It was just so much handling his weight. If I had better cardio I could have maybe kept on fighting. But he did amazing and he hits really hard.”
On his part, despite winning, Joshua described his performance as not his finest.
“It wasn’t the best performance. It wasn’t the best.
“The end goal was to get Jake Paul, pin him down and hurt him. That has been the request leading up. That was on my mind.
“It took a bit longer than expected, but the right hand finally found the destination. Jake Paul – he’s done really well tonight. I want to give him his props. He got up time and time again. It takes a real man to do that.”
