Trump comments on new Epstein files after threatening legal action against Trevor Noah for Grammys joke

Donald Trump has reiterated his claim that he ‘wasn’t friendly’ with Jeffrey Epstein after Trevor Noah made a joke about him at the Grammys, coinciding with the recent release of more Epstein-related documents.

Trevor Noah, known for his sharp humor, took aim at US President Donald Trump during his appearance at the 2026 Grammy Awards. The occasion, usually associated with music, turned political as Noah delivered a jab at Trump, which reportedly irked the President to the point of threatening legal action.

During his presentation of the Song of the Year award on February 1, Noah joked about Trump’s interest in acquiring Greenland and made a reference to his past association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

In his quip, Noah said: “Song of the Year — that is a Grammy that every artist wants almost as much as Trump wants Greenland, which makes sense because Epstein’s island is gone, he needs a new one to hang out with Bill Clinton.”

Although Bill Clinton has acknowledged knowing Epstein, he has denied any involvement in Epstein’s criminal activities. In response to Noah’s joke, Trump felt compelled to clarify once again the nature of his relationship with Epstein.

Shortly after the Grammy Awards, Trump criticized the event on Truth Social, calling it ‘the WORST’ and ‘virtually unwatchable.’ He also insulted Noah, comparing him unfavorably to Jimmy Kimmel and labeling the comedian’s remarks as ‘INCORRECT.’

Trump insisted that Noah was ‘WRONG’ in suggesting he and Clinton had visited Epstein’s island. The President was adamant that he had never been to the island and described Noah’s joke as ‘false and defamatory,’ threatening to take legal action against the ‘total loser’ comedian.

LADbible Group previously contacted representatives for Noah to comment on the matter.

On February 2, Trump further addressed the issue in a post, stating: “Not only wasn’t I friendly with Jeffrey Epstein but, based upon information that has just been released by the Department of Justice, Epstein and a SLEAZEBAG lying ‘author’ named Michael Wolff, conspired in order to damage me and/or my Presidency.”

He continued: “So much for the Radical Left’s hope against hope, some of whom I’ll be suing. Additionally, unlike so many people that like to ‘talk’ trash, I never went to the infested Epstein island but, almost all of these Crooked Democrats, and their Donors, did.”

Michael Wolff, a journalist and author who has written extensively about Trump’s presidency, has been a vocal critic of Trump, with one of his books in 2018 drawing criticism from the White House.

Wolff has claimed on his podcast that he possesses recordings of Epstein discussing Trump’s White House and their alleged relationship, though the veracity of these claims remains unverified.

Trump’s response came shortly after the US Department of Justice released a new batch of documents related to Epstein. These files comprise millions of pages, including emails and other communications between Epstein and prominent figures. It is important to emphasize that being mentioned in these documents does not imply culpability in any criminal activities.

Among the unverified tips submitted to the FBI are some serious allegations against the President, although the details are redacted.

One complaint mentions a ‘redacted’ individual claiming that a female friend was coerced into a sexual act with Trump several decades ago, though these claims lack substantiation.

The DOJ and the White House issued a statement clarifying that some documents contain ‘untrue and sensationalist claims against President Trump that were submitted to the FBI right before the 2020 election.’ The statement emphasized: “To be clear, the claims are unfounded and false, and if they have a shred of credibility, they certainly would have been weaponized against President Trump already.”
