Footage from Trump’s Super Bowl celebration reveals Bad Bunny playing on screens, not Turning Point USA

A watch party at Donald Trump’s golf club was filmed showing Bad Bunny’s halftime performance, despite Trump’s earlier opposition to watching it.

On February 8, the 2026 Super Bowl LX took place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, with Bad Bunny headlining the halftime show.

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, made history as the first male solo Latin artist to perform at the NFL’s halftime show. However, Donald Trump had previously stated he would not attend as he opposed NFL performers Bad Bunny and Green Day.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt mentioned last week, “I think the president would much prefer a Kid Rock performance over Bad Bunny.”

Despite Trump’s criticisms of the show, a video shared online shows it playing in the background at a screening party at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

An X user shared footage reportedly from inside Trump’s golf club, showing Bad Bunny on the screen instead of Kid Rock.

The caption states: “Footage from inside Trump’s golf club Super Bowl party reveals the Bad Bunny half time show played on the big screens. What a bunch of hypocrites.”

The video also shows Trump conversing with Senator Lindsey Graham while others watch the performance.

Although Trump may not have been focused on the screen, having the show on at his golf club likely contributed to its viewership.

Trump’s post on Truth Social after the show indicates he was aware of the performance. He criticized Bad Bunny’s Spanish-language show as ‘absolutely terrible’ and ‘one of the worst EVER’, stating, “Nobody understands a word this guy is saying.”

The president described the show as lacking in ‘standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence’ and not reflecting ‘the Greatness of America’.

Whether Kid Rock’s alternative halftime show meets such standards is open to interpretation.

Trump also had the option of watching Turning Point USA’s alternate halftime show, given Rock’s support for Trump.

However, it’s possible the president was not inclined to view Kid Rock’s performance, which has faced accusations of lip-syncing.
