Zendaya recently shared her thoughts on identifying ‘red flags’ during a discussion with Robert Pattinson.
The actors engaged in a conversation ahead of their film The Drama, a romantic comedy directed by Kristoffer Borgli. The movie explores the upheaval in a couple’s relationship following a startling discovery.
Their dialogue for Interview magazine naturally gravitated towards the topic of relationships.
Red flags are crucial indicators when assessing whether someone is the right match for you.
From strained family relationships to unstable employment, red flags come in various forms, and they are not limited to romantic contexts.
Zendaya expressed her thoughts on certain warning signs she observes.

In a professional setting, she remarked: “One that works for us at work is how people treat their crews. I admire people who are kind to everyone, not just the actors, directors, or producers.”
She further explained, “A very telling thing is how a crew feels about a particular actor because they get to see how people are when the cameras are not rolling.”
Red flags can also involve animals – such as a pet’s reaction to someone.
Pattinson inquired, “If someone looked at your dog in a funny way, is that a red flag?”
Zendaya was forthright, stating: “I would get into a fight over my dog, for sure.”
She concluded: “Dogs are a good judge of character.”

The conversation also touched on first impressions, with Pattinson asking if Zendaya could gauge someone ‘within seconds of meeting them’.
Zendaya acknowledged the complexity of first impressions, saying: “Yes and no? People are layered and complex and they make mistakes. There are cultural differences.”
She emphasized that while initial impressions can be misleading, saying: “But there are also things that are just kind of, ‘Well, that’s rude. That’s mean.’ And there’s also the opposite. You can know someone for a long time and they can change, or you get to know them on a deeper level and you’re like, ‘Whoa. I didn’t see that side of you’.”
She also mentioned her preference for transparency, adding: “Let’s be upfront with the crazy.”
