Chappell Roan breaks silence following backlash after Jude Law’s daughter allegedly left ‘in tears’

Chappell Roan has addressed the backlash she faced online after an alleged encounter at a hotel in Brazil.

On Saturday (March 21), former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Jorginho criticised the singer following claims that his step-daughter Ada — the daughter of actor Jude Law — was left upset after reportedly seeing Roan at a hotel in São Paulo.

Jorginho is married to Catherine Harding, who previously dated Law and is Ada’s mother.

In his comments, Jorginho alleged that Roan’s security team behaved ‘aggressively’ toward his family after the child walked past Roan’s table to confirm whether it was her.

Roan has since responded to the situation in videos posted on X, saying she hadn’t noticed “a woman and a child” and maintaining that no one approached her or “bothered” her.

“I did not ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child… they did not come up to me… they weren’t doing anything. It’s unfair for security to assume somebody doesn’t have good intentions when they have no reason to believe because there’s no action even taken,” said Roan.

She also clarified that the guard involved was not part of her own personal security detail.

“I do not hate people who are fans of my music,” she added.

“I do not hate children. Like, that is crazy. I’m sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming something… and that if they felt uncomfortable, that makes me really sad.”
