A new rundown of the UK’s ten wealthiest people shows their combined fortunes still fall a staggering $494.67 billion short of Elon Musk’s net worth.
Musk, who runs Tesla and founded SpaceX, remains the world’s richest individual, with his wealth estimated at close to $800 billion.
Although the X owner briefly lost the top spot last year while taking on a prominent role within the Trump administration, he quickly reclaimed first place by surpassing Larry Ellison again in September.
That eye-watering figure becomes clearer when compared with the UK’s richest: even the top ten combined don’t match Musk’s total.
The Sunday Times’ 2026 Rich List names the Hinduja brothers as the UK’s richest, sitting at the head of the Hinduja Group, which spans banking, trucks, energy, media, and healthcare.
What began with roots in India and Iran later expanded internationally, rapidly growing into a global business empire.

Close behind are the Reuben brothers, whose fortune is tied to Reuben Brothers and its major interests in UK property, data centres, hotels, and technology investments.
They also hold significant US assets, with a portfolio said to be worth more than $5 billion.
Sir Leonard Blavatnik, through Access Industries, controls Warner Music and has poured substantial investment into tech and entertainment.
His wider holdings have also included stakes across oil, aluminium, and media.
Shipping and industrial tycoon Idan Ofer has spread investments across multiple sectors, including stakes in football clubs like Atlético Madrid in Spain and FC Famalicão in Portugal.
Ofer’s wealth is also linked to major plays in energy, chemicals, and global infrastructure.

The Weston family features on the list too, controlling Associated British Foods, the parent company of fashion retailer Primark.
Their growing wealth has been driven by a mix of retail strength, food production, and global consumer brand operations.
Rounding out the UK top ten are Christopher Harborne, Nik Storonsky, Alex Gerko, Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, and game entrepreneurs Igor and Dmitry Bukhman.
Set against Musk’s estimated fortune, the comparison is stark.
Collectively, the UK’s ten richest represent roughly 37% of Musk’s wealth—leaving the Tesla boss about $494.67 billion ahead.
It’s an almost unfathomable gap.
