Two pioneers of women’s mixed martial arts are set to meet at last this Saturday night, as Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano headline a long-awaited bout that will be streamed globally on Netflix.
Rousey, a former Olympian with a 12-2 record, is stepping back into MMA competition for the first time in roughly a decade as she prepares to take on Carano. Carano stood at 7-1 before she walked away from the sport in 2009 and shifted her focus toward a successful acting career.
Because this is an exhibition running under influencer Jake Paul’s ‘Most Valuable Promotions’ banner rather than the UFC, both veterans will be operating under tightly defined conditions on fight night.
With more than ten years away from professional MMA action, both fighters face the challenge of readjusting to the sport’s demands. Rousey (39) and Carano (44) also enter this matchup without any prior head-to-head meeting in the cage, adding another layer of unpredictability to Saturday’s main event.

The event will be held at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California. Coverage begins at 6pm Pacific, and anyone with a Netflix subscription will be able to watch live as the card unfolds.
While the broadcast window opens at 6pm, the two headliners won’t be first up. Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou is also slated to return to MMA earlier on the card before Rousey and Carano make their walk for the main attraction.
Speaking to Netflix, Carano said: “Ronda came to me and said there is only one person she would make a comeback for, and it’s been her dream to make this fight happen between us. “She thanked me for opening up doors for her career and was respectful in asking for this fight to happen. This is an honor. I believe I will walk out of this fight with the win, and I anticipate it will not come easy, which I welcome. This is as much for Ronda and I as it is for the fans and mixed martial arts community.
“What a time to be alive.”

The fight will follow the Unified Rules of MMA—the standard ruleset used across major promotions, including the UFC. Rousey and Carano are scheduled to compete in five rounds of five minutes, using four-ounce gloves.
Under the official Unified Rules framework, a wide range of prohibited actions are classified as fouls in both contests and exhibitions, with the referee empowered to issue penalties when violations occur.
Multiple fouls—or one especially serious infraction—can lead to a disqualification at the referee’s discretion. Fouls may also cause point deductions, which are applied by the scorekeepers, while the referee’s role is to identify and call the foul.
Main card – 9pm
Preliminary card – 6pm
