Frankie Valli, 92, was spotted in Los Angeles last Friday being helped out of a black Mercedes after announcing in May that he would take the rest of 2026 off from touring to focus on his health.
Valli held onto a man’s hands for assistance as he made his way out of the passenger’s side of the black Mercedes, according to photos obtained by Page Six.
The “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” singer and his companion then headed into breakfast at The Nook for a meal.
This rare public outing came more than two months after he announced he would be canceling the remainder of his and The Four Seasons’ 2026 tour dates.
The cancellation marked a dramatic shift for the performer.
Valli turned 92 in May, the same month he canceled all remaining tour dates for 2026.
“I’m so sorry to disappoint the folks who have purchased tickets to my shows, but I have decided to take the rest of the year off from touring to focus on my health,” Valli wrote via Instagram on May 29.
“I’m looking forward to getting healthy and seeing you all again soon. Thank you for all your good wishes.”
Valli did not provide further details about the unspecified health concerns.
His longtime representative, Victoria Varela, said the decision to cancel shows rather than postpone them was in consideration of fans who have already paid money and might have it held in limbo indefinitely while he works to regain his health.
“Promoters want to prolong things and not give people their money back,” Varela told Variety, “but he needs to not keep rescheduling these shows.”
The 92-year-old reportedly plans to take the next six months to focus on his health before potentially returning to touring in 2027.
Valli’s decision surprised many fans given his decades-long touring history.
The Last Encores Tour, the group’s farewell run, started in 2023 and had most recently been extended through late 2026.
All eight performances remaining for 2026 in cities from Scottsdale, Arizona, to Detroit have been called off entirely.
Valli most recently performed on February 22 at the Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California.
His latest Los Angeles sighting is notable because Valli has largely remained out of public view since May.
Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons previously postponed several tour dates scheduled for April to later in the summer, and those have now been cancelled along with several others spanning from the summer through November.
Valli has previously defended his commitment to performing despite his age.
“I get a chuckle from the comments wondering if someone forcing me to go on stage. Nobody has ever made me do anything I didn’t want to do,” Valli shared in a statement.
Valli found fame as the lead singer of the Four Seasons and eventually as a solo artist in the 1960s with smashes like “Walk Like a Man,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Rag Doll” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.”
He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2026.
In the viral moment that sparked health concerns among fans in 2024, videos of Valli performing appeared on social media showing him at various levels of engagement with choreography and lyrics.
A video of Valli performing went viral due to the then-90-year-old musician seeming very spaced out, with one social media user writing, “Whoever keeps sending Frankie Valli out on stage at this point is committing elder abuse.”
But Valli defended his decision to stay on the road.
Fans who commented on Valli’s May cancellation announcement offered overwhelming support for his decision to prioritize his health.
According to Valli’s representative Victoria Varela, the icon chose to announce the cancellation of his shows rather than postponing the dates out of consideration for fans who had already purchased tickets, saying “He realized he needed to take a break and get his health in order, and that is the true issue, he wants to get better without prolonging, through the rescheduling process, the pain of people who’ve bought these tickets.”
The Four Seasons legend has emphasized throughout his career that his love of music motivates him.
“Be loyal to what you’re doing and love what you’re doing. You should be doing it out of the fact that you love and it and it’s the most important thing in your life. If I had not become successful I’d probably still be working in some little bar,” Valli said in a February interview.
Valli, the frontman and only original member still performing with the Four Seasons, launched the farewell tour, “The Last Encores,” in October 2023.
The canceled remaining 2026 shows were set for June through November, with the nearest dates to his cancellation announcement in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Anaheim, California.
