Raven-Symoné is defending her choice to wear disposable diapers during her period, declaring on her podcast that she is “thriving” in the unconventional routine.
The 40-year-old actress, who co-hosts Tea Time with her wife Miranda Pearman-Maday, revealed on a recent episode that she abandoned both pads and tampons in favor of adult diapers as her body changed and she stepped away from internal feminine hygiene products. The That’s So Raven alum has found the single-use garments better suited to managing her heavy menstrual flow.
“I’m just able to wear a diaper throughout the day with a little baby T-shirt and a binky in my mouth and run around the house,” she joked during the episode. “Shout out Rugrats. I’m thriving.”
Pearman-Maday teased her wife about the habit, noting that the bulky padding creates audible “wet diaper booty” sounds when she walks. She added that while she does not judge the routine, she jokingly suspects Raven-Symoné might be tapping into “some inner-child work” by embracing the undergarments.
The conversation between the couple also took a more practical turn. Raven-Symoné shared that she had previously tried washable period underwear, which is engineered specifically to absorb menstrual fluids, but found them lacking for her needs.
“I didn’t like those as much,” she explained. “They didn’t hold as much.”
The actress acknowledged the environmental cost of disposable products but expressed enthusiasm for the expanding conversation around menstrual care and non-traditional solutions.
“I really appreciate the fact that we’re starting to like think outside the box of the period and containment,” she said. “And a healthier space and I just want everyone to try it.”
