Savannah Guthrie stepped onto her first red carpet since her mother Nancy’s disappearance.
The “Today” co-anchor, 54, attended the US Open Exhibition Match event in New York on Tuesday alongside her longtime husband, Michael Feldman. She smiled for cameras in a black floral dress and heels, making her first major public appearance since Nancy Guthrie, 84, vanished from her home in the Catalina Foothills in Tucson, Arizona, on Feb. 1.
The outing came just weeks after Savannah made an emotional plea marking the six-month anniversary of her mother’s disappearance. “Today marks six months since our beautiful mom was taken from us,” she wrote in an Instagram message, describing the milestone as one no family should ever have to endure.
She addressed those responsible directly, begging them to “do the right thing” and reveal where her mom is.
“If you know anything — anything at all — please come forward,” Guthrie urged in the same Instagram post, noting that tips can be submitted anonymously and reminding the public that a reward remains available for information that helps solve the case.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Office continues to lead the investigation, though sources close to the case expressed frustration earlier this month about the lack of progress. “Stop the childish finger-pointing,” a source said. “There’s a killer on the loose. They need to focus their resources on finding that person rather than bickering.”
The day before Savannah’s August plea, authorities released the full contents of alleged ransom notes sent to Arizona outlet KOLD-13 on Feb. 2 and Feb. 6. The first letter claimed Nancy was still alive and demanded $4 million in bitcoin for her safe return. The second letter claimed she had passed.
The FBI previously released home security camera photos showing a masked and armed person outside Nancy’s home on the night she disappeared.
Savannah has made clear her family refuses to stop searching. She also urged anyone who may recognize details in the ransom notes to contact investigators immediately.
Law enforcement officials, alongside the FBI, continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information to come forward. A combined reward exceeding $1 million remains available for information that leads to answers in the case.
