Tim Curry reunited with his “Rocky Horror Picture Show” co-stars in his final public appearance nine months before his death.
The beloved actor, 80, joined Patricia Quinn, Barry Bostwick and Nell Campbell at the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” 50th Anniversary Spectacular Tour at Town Hall on November 3 in New York City. The group posed for photos together during a meet and greet portion of the event.
One of his other final appearances came on October 15 in Los Angeles, where Curry made a speech during the Grammy Museum celebration of the music for “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”
One month prior, he attended the Academy Museum’s 50th Anniversary of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” on Sept. 26. During that event, Curry gave an update on his health, telling the audience he “still can’t walk.”
“I won’t be singing and I won’t be dancing very soon,” he shared. “I still have real problems with my left leg.”
The singer notably suffered a stroke in 2012 that left him in a wheelchair with paralysis. The incident also forced Curry to move onto voice work and step away from on-screen acting for 14 years until 2024’s “Stream.”
Curry passed away Tuesday night after suffering serious health issues for over ten years. He was 80.
The “Annie” star gave his last interview in October 2025, during which he confessed that he didn’t “fear death.”
In the viral moment that defined his later years, Curry’s 2012 stroke dramatically altered his life and career trajectory. The medical emergency left him with paralysis and dependent on a wheelchair, forcing the once-energetic performer to reinvent himself as a voice actor while stepping away from the physical demands of on-screen performance for more than a decade. His return to film in 2024’s “Stream” marked a brief resurgence before his health declined again.
Throughout his final months, Curry remained connected to the legacy of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” the 1975 cult classic that made him an icon as the sweet transvestite Dr. Frank-N-Furter. The 50th anniversary celebrations allowed him to revisit that legacy alongside the co-stars who shared in its creation.
Curry’s October 2025 interview, in which he discussed his perspective on mortality, offered fans a final glimpse of his characteristic wit and candor.
