Travis Kelce dropped $5.35 million on a lakefront Ohio mansion months before marrying Taylor Swift.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 36, closed on the sprawling Bratenahl property in March, according to property records obtained by the Wall Street Journal. That purchase came roughly four months before he and Swift, also 36, exchanged vows inside New York City’s Madison Square Garden on July 3.
The 21,000-square-foot residence sits on 3.5 acres along Lake Erie, just miles from where Kelce grew up in Cleveland Heights. It boasts eight bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a game room, and a home theater. The previous gatehouse was converted into a two-bedroom guest cottage.
Additional amenities include a heated pool, temperature-controlled wine cellar with tasting room, fitness center, billiards room, and poker area.
The property had undergone what the WSJ described as an “extensive renovation” after Gary Pellegrino purchased it for $1.95 million in 2023. It was listed for $6.99 million in 2024, then saw its asking price drop to $5.99 million before Kelce’s purchase.
David Ayers and Nick Zawitz of The Agency Cleveland represented both sides of the transaction. In a statement released through their team to the WSJ, they said:
“We’re thrilled for the new owners and so excited for Cleveland.”
The Ohio acquisition adds to Kelce’s growing real estate portfolio. Reports said in October 2023 that he bought a $6 million mansion in Kansas City, Missouri, amid his then-burgeoning romance with the “Bad Blood” singer. That property features a waterfall, swimming pool, mini golf course, and sits within a gated community.
Kelce and Swift went public with their relationship in September 2023. Their July wedding drew a star-studded guest list that included Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez, and Gigi Hadid.
The Bratenahl deal marks a return to Kelce’s home region as he balances life between Missouri and the Northeast. Swift maintains her own extensive property holdings, including homes in New York City, Los Angeles, Nashville, and Rhode Island.
The couple’s respective real estate moves have drawn significant attention throughout their relationship, with fans and media tracking each new acquisition as their partnership has intensified.
Kelce is expected to report for Chiefs training camp in St. Joseph, Missouri, later this month as the defending Super Bowl champions prepare for the 2025 NFL season.
